A Mid-Summer Sensitivity

The shallow breath of a sighing wind
Settles and is gone but for the gentle brush
That whispers across your silken cheek
And curls around your neck like a subtle embrace

The knee high grass encircling your feet
Sways but soft on your myriad thoughts
Holding safety in its depth and form
Yielding comfort in its surround and closeness

The blended sky of dusk where black swallows blue
A sensuous and delicate affair of night and day
The fading light silhouettes your sweet form
The unnoticeable caress of the darkening air

Another night falls with the grace of a leaf
One spiral to the right and one twirl to the left
As a dancer in my dreams that hastens to my love
And finds you waiting with nothing but purity.
